Eliza Macky to William Macky(On same sheet as letter from Dorcas)My dear William Many an anxious day and night I have had thinking of you since you left us but in the Lord I put my trust that he will protect you from any evil, and I hope long before this reaches you that you will have arrived safe and well and that you have found James and Thomas and their families all in good health. We all here think it very strange that there are no letters coming from any of them. Surely if they could but know what pleasure their letters give us they would write often. Dear William, this is a late seed time, your father has a great deal to do, I wish he may be fit to stand it. He intends selling all in June or July. I wish he may get it done but I am greatly afraid and God only knows what will be the case with us if he does not sell. I think more about poor John and his small family than I do about ourselves. Your father joins me in kind love to you, James and family, Thomas and my dear Kitty. Give my kind love to Uncle and Aunt Baird and family. God bless you my dear William and protect you from every evil is the sincere prayer of Your loving mother, Eliza Macky PS James Glen of Kilfennan died in January last. |
